Training Instructions

Ready to start volunteering with us in-hospital? Listed below are the required steps to become fully trained! These trainings will cover a lot of important information, such as the Project Sunshine values, hospital policies, HIPAA, and some general tips for working with pediatric patients. Once you have completed all the steps, you are now able to sign up for our in-hospital volunteering events, such as DCC.​ Here are the steps:

1. College Volunteer Application:​​​

   • This is the same form as in Step 1 of the join us page. If you have already filled it out there is no need to do it again.

2. Watch the following videos: 

   • New Volunteer Video

   • Tips for Play Video

3. Complete this 12 questions quiz​. 

4. Attend a Here to Play virtual training. 

   • Click link --> Go to Step 3 --> Follow instructions. 

   • After you complete this step, Project Sunshine Nationals will reach out to complete a background check and ensure you pass Dell Children's medical facility clearance.

5. After completing Steps 1-4, fill out this form. ​

* Once you are done with this training process, you don't have to renew your training! (after completing this entire process, you are done for the rest of your time with Project Sunshine). 

** Those who complete training must commit to at least 1 year volunteering at Dell Children's and volunteer at least twice per semester!
