Shreya Sarathy
Hi everyone! I'm Shreya, a fourth-year public health major with a minor in communications and social change and a pre-health certificate. I’m on the pre-medicine track and my dream is to become a pediatrician. I’m also the President of MEDLIFE. When I’m not studying for classes, you can find me cooking, reading, or getting coffee with friends!
Project Sunshine is the first student organization I joined as a freshman, so it is very dear to my heart. Our members are like a tight-knit family, and I have made some lifelong friends here. I love this organization’s mission to bring joy to pediatric patients who are going through difficult times. Our ability to take their minds off their current hardships and bring a smile to their face is something I’m thankful for every day. I'm extremely excited to work alongside the rest of the Project Sunshine family to make a positive impact on these children’s lives!

Demi Disla
Hi! My name is Demi, and I’m a third-year Human Dimensions of Organizations major with a Business minor from Cedar Park, Texas! I am also a member of HDOU and Longhorn Puzzle Club. In my free time I enjoy going to concerts, thrifting, and trying out new restaurants.
One of the best parts about being in Project Sunshine has been meeting so many amazing people, all focused on the same great cause. I joined Project Sunshine because I wanted to help make a positive impact on the lives of pediatric patients. I have lots of experience working with children, having worked in afterschool programs, summer camps, and coaching sports. Through these experiences, I have gained an appreciation for the resilience and strength that children possess. Knowing that I can make even a small part of their journey easier is the best part about Project Sunshine!

Since then, the experience has only become more and more special as I met the amazing community of kind and driven students part of this organization. Paris Apolinar
Hey y’all! My name is Paris from Houston, Texas and I’m a senior Nutritional Sciences major following a Pre-Dental track. In my free time when I’m not studying you will 100% find me at the gym, dancing, listening to music, obsessing over my dog Jaxson, or sipping on a hot cup of tea (even in the summer heat)! One of my major aspirations is to be a Pediatric Dentist:)

My passion for working with children started when I took on my first job in high school as a Dance Teacher. I was able to teach kids from 2-16 years old and they all made my job so much fun! I absolutely loved the creative aspect working with children by finding new and unique ways to help them engage and learn the technique in class. Now I have my RDA certification and have been able to work with children at a pediatric dental office and it is just as fun! Through Project Sunshine I hope to continue spreading smiles and sunshine to the children in Austin!

Annaka Vasquez
Hi everyone, my name is Annaka! I am a third year Biology major with a BDP certificate in Children & Society. I’m on the pre-medical track with the aspiration of becoming a pediatrician! I am a TIP Lead Mentor, StudentsCare volunteer, and member of JAMP. In my free time, I enjoy watching films, thrifting with friends, solving puzzles, baking, and running outdoors!
I joined Project Sunshine my first semester because I wanted to become more involved in bringing smiles to pediatric patients in Austin! I did not have any previous experience in the pediatric field, but Project Sunshine has helped me to learn more about the field, with unique perspectives from members and guest speakers! Being able to directly impact pediatric patients through volunteer events alongside other dedicated members has been my favorite part of Project Sunshine. There is genuinely never a dull moment because of the tight-knit community that has been fostered. Most importantly, being part of Project Sunshine has made me more passionate about working as a pediatrician one day, and carry on the mission of spreading joy to the lives of pediatric patients.

I joined Project Sunshine because I loved the organization’s mission of making a positive difference in the lives of pediatric patients. As an aspiring pediatric specialist, I absolutely love working with kids and getting to see their strength and personalities shine through! My dream to become a doctor started with my little brother, who was diagnosed with food allergies when he was really little. Seeing the way his doctors helped him inspired me to dedicate my life to doing the same! I’m so grateful for the community I’ve found in Project Sunshine and the opportunity to bring joy to some amazing kids!
