Our Programs
Texas Project Sunshine volunteers bring joy and play directly to pediatric patients through in-person and virtual programming with our Austin network of hospitals and medical facility partners across the country. Along with many Project Sunshine sponsored service programs, our volunteers also have the opportunity to work with other child life organizations and activities.
DCC
Love making fun arts and crafts? Volunteers who participate in Dell's Crafting Corner get to engage and assist pediatric patients to create various pieces using paint, play-doh, slime, and much more. Join us for our next session and you'll get to see how much fun the kids and the volunteers have!
Sending Sunshine
Volunteers come together on campus and assemble bags full of toys and other goodies. Building Project Sunshine Activity Kits provides an individualized packet of materials and inspires play and engagement. The materials spark joy and provide therapeutic value to the physical and emotional healing process. All materials are deemed safe and fun for kids of all ages! It's a great bonding experience for all volunteers
Project Linus
Gather on campus, along with other volunteers to make easy tie blankets for patients to cuddle with! These blankets provide a sense of security and warmth to those who are going through rough times. You definitely don't want to miss out on this chance to comfort someone!
Slime Making
Join us for our super fun and relaxing slime making events at Dell Children's! Volunteers set up stations filled with all the necessary slime ingredients and assist the kids in making their stretchy creations!
Surgi Dolls
An on-campus event where volunteers use their crafty skills to sew plush dolls for donation to hospitals, where they can be decorated and used to comfort young patients. Medical staff can also use these dolls as a guide to explain treatments or procedures. By helping children understand their medical journey, Surgi Dolls provide a sense of autonomy and can decrease patient anxiety.

Activity Book Making
Gather with Project Sunshine volunteers to curate engaging and fun activity books for pediatric patients! Let your creativity shine by filling these books with unique crosswords, word searches, homemade coloring pages, and other exciting things!
Letter Writing Party!
Similar to Sending Sunshine, volunteers convene on campus to write and decorate letters for pediatric patients. These creative letters contain jokes, riddles, and words of support for pediatric patients who might be finding life at the hospital difficult. We're positive that our volunteers have plenty of fun with the stickers and bright colors!
